    First WRX - 03 Bugeye

Hey guys. Bought my first WRX a few weeks ago. 60k miles and in amazing condition. Bone stock other than a set of SSR forged wheels. I've been a Ford guy my whole life but have really wanted one of these for a long time. Stocked out and traded in my Stage 3 '13 Focus ST after getting fed up with FWD.

Here is how it looked when I bought it.

Plasti dipped the wheels (temporary cause I hate white on white) and cleaned up the engine bay.

Took it took a local tuner for some baseline pulls to see what my starting point is with the car stock. It was done on a Dynocom AWD dyno which are known to read higher than Dynojets but I'm told they are supposed to be superior for tuning purposes so I don't get too wrapped up in the numbers. After mods my car will be tuned on the same dyno so the gains should be consistent. Regardless I am very happy with the result and can't wait to get some mods on the car in the near future.

First thing I thought of as well...

Good choice on going black on the wheels. I think they look better that way. Either way, looks clean.

Is that power measured at the wheels or at the crank???

Ya, initially the thought of going back 10 yrs was a little bit of a mental hurdle but I've just always wanted a bugeye and this one was too nice to pass up. I was pretty unhappy with the ST due to all my woes with the motor mounts and the performance limitations of FWD (i've had RWD almost my whole life). I just feel 100 times more comfortable in this car.

I plan on having the wheels powder coated here soon and just wanted a quick fix.

Power is measured from the wheels but those dynos read high. Once I get a few mods done i'm having it tuned on that dyno so the gains should be represented well.
