    hey new guy here...

    hey first time Subaru wrx owner i just bought a 05 wrx 100k miles only thing is its missing a hood scoop and its got a bad waste gate so its only boosting to 5-7 psi and has a junk boost gauge but im super excited to be in the Subaru community but yeah ill post pictures soon...



    anyone help me with my problems?

    Welcome wastegate is not that hard to fix. Make sure you check to see if the up pipe is stock or not.

    I forgot to mention my car is all stock only thing done is a magna flow exhaust axle back

    Are you driving the car currently? If so, I would wait until all of that is fixed. The wastegate and the hood scoop are relatively easy fixes luckily.

    Yeah I just bought it yesterday I'm going to take it to a shop today to see how much a we is gonna cost me and I think ima pick up a scoop this weekend only 04-05 ones will work correct?

    Yes, OEM hood scoops are model specific. 02-03, 04-05, 06-07 etc...

    ordered the hood scoop last night bought brakes and pads last night for it and taking it in sat to find out where my boost leak is

    ok so i got a bunch of questions im going to do all the fluid changes on my car this weekend along with brakes maybe a new boost gauge and possibly a compression test and new plugs i think.. but here are the questions..


    whats kind of trans fluid? 3.8qts..
    what rear diff fluid? .8qt..
    rotella 5w 40 for oil for the motor what kind of filter? 4.5qts with a filter..

    Subaru extra s fluid for both trans and diff.
    Good choice on oil, just go with an oem filter, and a crush washer.
    I did hours and hours of research on this when I changed my fluids last week...on my 2011.
    You can get the extra s from fredbeanparts. I love it so far, took a few days

    ok so i went to subaru today and the only way they sell then fluids is if i bring in a container and i dont have a container for any fluids so idk what to do about oem fluids and i dont know what i wanna do go oem or go with some other fluids from a parts store

    Just buy a few quart bottles for a few dollars..it's cheap.
    Or go to fredbeanparts.com, they have the subaru extra s there
