It doesn't have to be exact. Just similar. Like an homage. Lol I'm not duplicating I'll be sure to keep you all posted on my progress. I know it will be a long process, but it will get there. Man, so many negative comments. Lol if I could have bought a nicer car I would have. I had to get a loan from my credit union and one that we could afford to pay on. I just switched jobs after three years at my old one and am in the process of getting back to the pay I was once at. I know it's a pos now, but soon it will be sexy. Rally, not ricer.

My credit union denied me an all stock 04 wrx from a dealer for 8k cuz it had too many miles and was too old, but they approved this one cuz it was low miles. Carfax even has it listed for 53k miles.

well, as long as you are looking at it as 'my first project car' and not something to be a serious daily any time soon. I commend those that will buy 'junk' and rehab it back to glory. best of luck to you. keep us posted.

Carfax is a sham. Also, I would have sold you my bugeye for 3.

    What a shame..

Good on you for wanting to restore it, but I hope you have deep pockets (some how I'm thinking that's not the case). I bought a second bugeye back in 2008 with the plan to fix it up.. six years and around $20,000 later it's sitting in my garage.. In pieces.

Good luck with the car. Someone correct me if im wrong but can you pay homage to something newer? Maybe go with something like this, but again to each his own. Keep us updated on the progress.

^Biggest issue I see, sounds like a scam to get a quick buck (In this case 7k). Not sure I would trust a meth kit install from the PO seeing the wonderful job he did with the rest of the car.

If this thread is for real (Not sure yet) I would revert this car back to stock ASAP. Remove Meth kit, Back to stock tune and boost, etc. See how the car performance in stock form. Once you know the car is running ok (hopefully) for sometime than you can consider modifying. No sense in dumping money in something that may die sooner than later, but I hope this is not the case and wish you the best.

Yeah I'm gonna dump the meth kit and revert as much to stock as I can. The body kit is def getting changed. Lol it's sitting parked for now but a friend who's a mechanic is gonna check it out and see what he can do for cheaper than Subaru since he's worked on them before, then I'm gonna take it to a place to get tuned once it's safer to drive, and then worry about aesthetics. It's runs fine right now for the most part.
