Why is everyone a "Richard" on NASIOC?! Lol

Ok I understand about doing research about something before posting on a forum especially if its something that's been answered a million times but There's no reason to act Like that especially to new members. Sorry I guess I just want to vent. But I like the atmosphere better, lol but just a word of advice, if you see that someone has only like 10 posts and they're new to Subaru, don't be a Richard, be nice, if they continue to ask questions then go for it.
Sincerely, not so much a scooby Nooby, but a troubled adult who was bullied as a child. Lol

While we tend to have a more patient and tolerant reputation here than nastysock, it gets incredibly irritating to see the same questions asked thousands of times over again when there are stickies at the top of the page to field common questions. With the decades of built-up knowledge on here and NASIOC, the odds are very slim your question is unique. So many new people feel like they're the first to ask a question, when a quick search would have saved everyone the frustration.

So... a word of advice: if you see someone with 4000 posts and is pissed off at your question, understand that we get sick of seeing these questions time and time again, and eventually it gets under your skin.
Sincerely, not so much a scooby Nooby, but a jaded and cynical adult who yells at kids to get off his lawn.

Oh, and welcome! We really do make an effort to be civil and helpful around here. Let's see some pics of your car!

There seems to be a bit of an natural arc to the whole thing too.

    > not so n00b that tries to be helpful to other n00bs
    > annoyed cause you see the same question so much but still try to be helpful to n00bs
    > "OMFG do a search you damn n00b!" Nazi
    > resignation to the fact that people are people and they will continue to ask the same stuff without searching so you just ignore all the n00bs
    > Ignore the small stuff that annoys understand we were all n00bs once and try to be helpful where you can.

It's sort of like the five stages of grief... I don't think you skip a step. You may progress through some steps faster then others but you will pretty much hit them all at some point.

It's a shame that the forum filter blocks my nickname for nasioc. nasty****.
