There is absolutely 0 proof to back up that claim.

I knew bringing up the cops comment earlier was gonna catch some fire. You are right there is 0 proof, its just an excuse so we can say to justify its not our fault and its actually just that all cops have it out for WRX drivers. But yea agreed driving safe is a sure fire way to never get pulled over, that said its tought for guy in his upper 20s to not enjoy what this car was made to do!

I have to say the WRX is NOT the cop-magnet it's so claimed to be. BUT: driving fast and hard, all the time, with a loud exhaust, will eventually get you pulled over. It's a game of chance. I've been driving the WRX for almost 2 years, no issues. I do not drive like grandpa, but also not like I was in a race against the world...
You can't have everything - where would you put it?

I can see the WRX itself not be a cop-magnet, but the people who typically drive WRXs are (like you said loud and fast). I guess if you were to put them in any car they would still get pulled over, since their driving habits shouldn't change that much.

^ That'll be it... Anyone can hang a fartcan on any car and drive faster than limit. Even my Suzuki Sidekick could beat speed limits, just took a while to wind up.

You can drive it within the boundaries of the law on the road and unleash it on the track. I'm willing to bet that no one has ever been pulled on on a race track during a sanctioned even.

This reminds me of when my high school buddy borrowed his bosses convertible jaguar for prom. Well, he was coming down 168 (highway ) and we have a series of three rollers that make your stomach dip, or whatever that sensation Is. Being the brilliant individual he is, decided to see just how that felt at 120mph. Needless to say he flew the car (second time flying someone else's car) and upon impacting the ground he bottomed out cracking the oil pan. His boss was out of town, he proceeded to drive it back to the guys house, and leave it in his driveway with a Chinese to go container collecting the oil from under it. True story. The first time he flew a car I was 16, he was 18. He test drove a 3 series BMW , and the dealership salesman showed him how going on the on ramp, you could floor it yet the vehicle would not accelerate any faster than it could maneuver the curve. Well he had to try it, yet we have two lane on ramps. When the lanes merged, he had the choice of hitting a car or hitting the cement curve at 50mph. He chose the curve, at which point all four wheels came off the ground. Total silence all the way back to the dealership. No physical damage (visual ). Let him go.

I personally don't like the idea of someone gunning it to make it through a light that was about to turn red...not exactly the safest way to drive...
