Not that i was aware of. Finance guy said if my credit was just a little better I would have had an APR of 4.5%.

Yeah you probably have to have an 850 credit score. I'm at 695.

Nope. I got the 2.9 with a 735 but I didnt take it cause i got 0.9 through my credit union. You should see if you can go to a credit union and have them buy out the loan for a better interest rate. Cuase that is such a high rate!

Getting 3.49% thru USAA, best I can get. That is way better than over 5%. Thanks for the advice.

About a month ago I got 2.69%. The dealership put together the financing for me but I send my payments to Regions. Glad to see OP is refinancing.

I think you need to have at least a 700 or 725 credit score (through Experian I think) to qualify for the 2.9%. The catch is that the financing at 2.9% is through Chase, and they are a nightmare to deal with.

My previous Impreza was a lease and it was through Chase, it was the biggest hassle to get anything accomplished and I had to fight with them on numerous occasions to get anything done.

When I financed my WRX, I qualified for the 2.9%, but when I found out it was from Chase I turned it down and got financing through another bank. Going through the other bank bumped my interest rate to 3.4%, but that only amounted to an extra few dollars a month, and it's well worth it to not have to deal with Chase again.

OP is much better off at 3.49% and avoiding Chase.

I have 2 Subarus financed by Subaru(at 2 different dealerships) through Chase. I got 0.9% on 1 car & 1.9% on the other. Never had any issues. Just signed the papers when I picked up the cars. Make payments & that is it.

I moved several times in the last few years, and each time I needed to get documentation from Chase regarding the car, lease, or authorization for the DMV it was always a several hour ordeal trying to get someone who knew what they were doing.

Chase also had difficulty updating their records for my address and I would have to tell them several times of the new address before they would properly update it. This would result in bills and other documents going to the wrong address.

I never missed a payment with them either, but their customer service was just horrendous.

And after my lease expired and I returned the car, I received a bill two months later for two month's lease payments (a month over due plus late fees). I called them and told them the car was already returned two months ago, and they said "oh we're behind on paperwork" and that the bills were automated. At this point the account showed as unpaid for 27 days. I specified that my credit report better not get hit for non-payment since Chase reports to the credit bureaus on the 31st day of a late payment and the error was on their side. And Chase told me it wouldn't happen unless their systems weren't updated by then.

To me, that type of logic and operating procedure is completely unacceptable. A person's credit report influences many things, and we have very little control over incomplete or inaccurate information on those reports. I found it completely unacceptable that Chase would be so careless about it.

He still would have had to roll that $2k into the STI price making it over $37k....
