Stage 2 Bugeye, 200k miles and still rockin!

Hello everyone, new member here from Madison WI. Bought my 02 WRX in late Nov of 2011 after 9 BMWs, and so have had absolutely 0 regrets!

I got it with 167k on the clock, bone stock except for a boost gauge and an AFR gauge for $4900. Since then it's hit 200k on the original turbo/motor/trans, gone Stage 2 (at 170k) with Cobb tuning, Cobb drop in filter, cat-less uppipe, and a full 3" TBE. It's also gone through 5 sets of wheels, 4 wings, been keyed about 19 times, had the stock wing ripped off by vandals, but has never left me stranded or stuck in any weather. I couldn't be happier, and I still look back at it when walking away which pretty much says it all

How it looked when I first showed up to buy it:

After many miles, rocking a free set of wheels:

Oddly enough, I kinda like those weird color wheels.

I liked them for about 2 weeks.. I had planned on repainting them but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I like the gold RPF1's you posted on your other thread. I also like the painted side skirts better in the pic where you first bought, compared to the black on your most recent pic.

    What happened? lol

Sold them because I had another set of wheels lined up (18" RPF1 in black), but right after I sold the gold ones to a friend the other guy sold the black ones.

Instead of waiting for another pair to pop up I blew my money on other stuff instead :/

    Welcome from NJ!

Love the car and the wingless look on that particular model is VERY excellent. Kudos.

I just realized that isn't a pic of my car when I got it, mine has always had the black skirts. Not sure how that random pic ended up in my photobucket lol

I keep going back and forth, from some angles I think it looks really, really nice. From others it just looks a bit awkward IMO...

Thanks, I've actually got some friends with Subies in the MN area, and I'm heading there today. He's got a new Crosstrek and he's promised to go out on some lakes with me this year

I'm pretty lucky that Madison has an awesome group of Subaru owners, they're all extremely helpful and always willing to lend a hand with repairs and such.
