Just a new guy here, simple car enthusiast

    Hey everybody,

I'm just a car enthusiast looking to perhaps pick up a WRX here soon. I'm 22, working and going to school, living the American dream (sarcasm).

My current ride is a 1988 Honda CRX Si, bone stock. It doesn't exactly get up and go, but I'm loving the 40 mpg it get with it. But its about time I upgrade to something new, so I joined the forums here in hopes of expanding my knowledge so that I can make a more informed decision on the next car I buy. So yeah, tahts me.

    HOWDY!

    Pics!

Ooh,hang on. That is the throb of a turbocharged flat four engine. A sound which, all over the world, heralds the imminent arrival of a moron - JC.

    Welcome!

I hope you aren't too attached to good gas mileage, if you're going to switch to a wrx!

    Haha, thank you all.

I did the math and the savings aren't THAT big a deal, maybe a half grand a year or something, and I'm tired of soccer moms in mini vans zooming past me off the line haha. When it comes to agility, the CRX is an outstanding performer, but as far as acceleration goes, its just not got it. I know you can do engine swaps realitively easy on these cars, but I don't have the gear.
