    Future 2006 WRX owner

Hey peeps. If everything goes well, I will be a '06 WRX owner next Saturday. I always liked WRXs and STis, but could not justify MPGs. Now that my daily driver ('13 Veloster turbo) is paid off, I am looking for a project car I can turn into a weekend beast. A coworker told me that Subaru community is the best.

I am really disappointed with the lack of aftermarket parts and their quality for my VT, so I decided to leave it as a DD and get a real car with almost unlimited tuning options. My first mods will be, HIDs, COBB exhaust, intake w/air box (haven't decided on a brand), and coilovers.

I am looking forward to joining the community.

Hopefully you will be doing some research.

1.) HIDs better be a retrofit... slapping ebay HIDs in halogen housings doesn't fly around here
2.) Install an intake, and you need a tune. Be prepared to shell out the >$500 for engine management and maps
3.) If you want coilovers, be prepared to spend $2k. Cheap out on Coils and you just shouldn't even bother driving the car... quality springs and struts will be a much better alternative.

    Regardless, welcome to ClubWRX!

Thanks. I see WRX is a completely different beast then my VT. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of research on the forum before buying any aftermarket parts.
For HIDs I was thinking Diode Dynamics, I have 8000k on my veloster and they were easy to install and look very nice; very bright and crisp light.
Any suggestions on coilovers? I was thinking ARK performance.

I know of few that will work with my daily driver, but I've given up on modding the Veloster turbo. It is going to be a completely commuter car.

$15k is pretty pricey for an 06.

Have you talked to the previous owner about what modifications might have been done?

I am really excited and cant wait to drive the WRX home on Saturday (fingers crossed). Since it will be my project car and a weekend beast, I have decided to build the car up all the way to COBB Stage 3. So far, here is my wish list for this year:
    Diode Dynamics 6K HIDs lows
    Yellow LaminX fogs
    COBB Accessport v3
    Invidia Q300 turboback exhaust system
    Strut bar
    COBB lightweight pulley
    COBB BoV

    Spring 2014:
    Tein Street Flex coilovers.
    COBB Stage 3 upgrade
Pretty stuff (A-pillar pod, engine dress-up, etc.)

Once I get a place with a garage, summer 2014:
CF hood SEIBON® - Subaru Impreza 2006-2007 CWII-Style Carbon Fiber Hood
Spoiler Duraflex® 102663 - NT-5 Wing Spoiler (not necessarily the one in the link, but same style)
    Lip kit

I'll be asking you if you're going to be driving around next time I'm in bodymore. I'll need to know to look out for being blinded.

Poor car is about to get riced

Please read the links that I've posted and research the mods I've highlighted above. I'd strongly recommend against what's listed.
