The first WRX I saw in person at the dealership was a sedan...Loved it but didn't pull the trigger. Later, I seen a WRX hatch at the dealership...Instantly fell in love and bought it. The heart wants what it wants. Go with you heart...the only wrong answer is choosing based on what others tell you.

Hatchback looks better to me especially after seeing them in person. Crazy about the car seat thing. Don't they have anchors in the seat to lock in a base?

They do, but the forward facing car seats use a 3-point anchoring system. Two at the base, and one tether at the top.

At times I wish I did get the Hatch for all of the extra space but prefer the look of the sedan, though you cant go wrong with either. Im also glad your calling it a hatch and not a "wagon" Good luck whichever you decide.

    Age-old debate.

If you're an "OMG it's so important what the car looks like!" kinda guy, and like sedans, get that.

If you're an "I like my car to be versatile!" kinda guy the hatch (in my case with a 2002, wagon) is a great choice.

As far as I know, there's no appreciable difference in performance.

^This is the best way to summarize it; well put. The hatch has a shorter body and less weight hanging behind the rear axle which technically gives it more of an advantage in weight distribution, but unless you are track-racing your car it's not something you are going to notice.

Just get what you think you'll get the most out of. I've never liked the look of hatchbacks in any car and I would never own one. I don't need to haul stuff. I like having a trunk. To each his own

I myself am a hatch fan. I will add that there is one issue with the hatch. Bear in mind that most aftermarket exhausts produce drone to some extent in the hatch. Sedans don't have that problem.

    ^^ all the above.

performance wise, exactly the same. I've found the hatch very useful on trips, bringing stuff around.

ultimately if you're leaning one way. follow your instincts. either way you won't be disappointing.
