    New WRX owner with questions?

Just traded my 05 mustang gt in on a 09 wrx since I am moving to Alaska due to my job. I plan on future mods but nothing to crazy, just want about 340-350hp at the crank which is what my mustang had. I have no idea about imports or forced induction as all 3 of my past cars have been all v8 power. Just want to know what the good brands for aftermarket are and what is the safest way to add HP to get where I want to be? Thanks any help is appreciated.

    Welcome!

Turboxs, Invidia, Cobb, Perrin, Grimmspeed, etc, etc. Depends on what parts you are looking for and how much you want to spend.

You should start with a turboback exhaust, and a stage 2 tune. You would need to decide which tuning route you want to go (research cobb accessport and tactrix). You can either go off the shelf tune (cobb AP), opensource (tactrix), or pro-tune (or e-tune). See how you like that power, then go from there.

Keep in mind that with power you have to also upgrade handling and braking too...Also, don't forget your winter tires

Running 300-350 at the "crank" you should be fine with the transmission as long as you aren't launching it.

Haha I know, that's just what I heard from my friends CONSTANTLY before I got here. I just moved up here a few months ago from Florida, so people thought I was nuts to leave all the sun. I've loved it though. Probably gonna relocate to Seattle once my lease is up here; I spend a lot of my free time in the city anyways. Just moved to Mukilteo initially because it's close to work. Washington is a beautiful place

    Enough thread derailing!!!
