    Catback vs turboback

I just bought a 2013 wrx hatch and am a nubie. I am planning to gey a cobb exhaust. I like to low rumble and i dont want it too loud. More hp would also be nice. Ive been reading a lot but i still cant figure out if im better off with a turboback or catback exhaust. This will actually be my first mod to the car. Please help!!!!

    Welcome to the forum.

For sound I'd go with either an axleback or a catback. There are no power gains with either.

If you are looking for more power you can go with a turboback or a downpipe which would absolutely require a tune & a bigger investment of course.

This diagram will give you a better idea.

Ooh,hang on. That is the throb of a turbocharged flat four engine. A sound which, all over the world, heralds the imminent arrival of a moron - JC.

Depends on your budget. Axleback can be cheaper than a catback. Turboback = catback + downpipe

Well if you go turbo back you will need a tune since you will have a better flowing exhaust.

    Catback gets you sound.

Turboback gets you more power + sound.
