Long time lurker about to be an owner....

    Allow me to introduce myself....

My name is Bill, and I am a car nut or maybe just a nut....haven't quite figured that one out yet. I've always been a car enthusiast and have owned a few fast ones. In the past 5 years, I went from a GT500 to a GC SRT8 and now own an RS4. The GT500 was the most technical to drive due to having over 600hp and not much traction. The GC SRT8 was the best all around daily driver but got horrible gas mileage....somewhere in the neighborhood of 8mpg if I remember correctly (yes I have a heavy right foot) and the RS4 is arguably the best "drivers" car I have ever owned. Not much to not like about it other than cost of ownership which leads me to where I am today.

We just bought a bigger house and with that comes more debt. As much as I love my RS4, I am considering selling the car and replacing it with something I can still have fun driving without breaking the bank. A few years ago we replaced the wife's TSX with an Outback and she absolutely loves it. I had thought about getting an STi at the that time but decided against it as I was having too much fun with the GT500. Fast forward to now and I am again thinking about getting either a used (2008-2010) STi or a brand new WRX or keeping the RS4 and quit drinking $5 mocha's. Hopefully someone will help me with my decision....

Anyways, onto some pictures so I don't get any "pics or you drive a Yugo" comments.

And a Yugo for those that don't know what they are....

Haha love the Yugo in that company.

This is open for debate, but generally speaking the STI is worth it if you intend to track your car, whereas the WRX is a still lot of fun but more DD friendly, for better or worse. There are the perks of buying a new car vs a used one to consider as well.

    Welcome, Bill

Probably not what you'd expect on a Subaru site in terms of advice, but keep the RS4 and make DIY coffee at home.

Welcome to the forum. How much you think you could get for the RS4?

This is exactly what I was thinking.

I'd give anything to be able to afford/have an RS4 right now. There really isn't much more out there that sounds as sexy as that higher revving Euro Audi V8. Yours looks great.

He said mocha...more than likely a form of espresso...those machines aren't cheap or easy.

    RS4! Really nice.

    Welcome from NJ!

Hope you enjoy your stay here and congrats on the future purchase. Recommend any of what you mentioned. Love the current gen WRX and have one on order.

I thought that was a flavor...I guess my not drinking coffee was made very apparent

    Keep the RS4.

A Subaru would be a massive step down.

I agree but the whole purpose for me is to trade down into something that will be more economical to run and maintain.
