    New guy from Maine.

Hey all. I'm a long time subie owner but recently got my first wrx. Picked up a used 1 owner high mileage (130000) wrx. I'm pretty happy with the car. Runs strong. Guess my question is does anyone else have a wrx with similar mileage? And if you do what kinda problems can I expect?

Is it stock or modifed? Is the maintenance up to date (specifically the timing belt service)?

I have a 131k on my 05 STI...maintenance needs to be up to date (timing belt service as Zax said...should have been done at 105k). The suspension probably needs an overhaul if it hasn't been done (top hats and struts at least, springs don't go bad).

Be aware that there might be rust on some things underneath. Lots of bushings could probably benefit from a replacement (rubber wears down over time).

My rear differential is about done...but that doesn't happen on a lot of Subarus.

Mine had the 10000 30000 60000 and 90000 tuneup by dealer. Timing belt was done at 115000. Don't know if the head gaskets were done or not. Every other subie I've had has needed the head gaskets done by 120000. I know I need struts and some simple front end work. One thing I'm concerned about is a rattle like sound at low rpms 1.5-2.5 grand usually. It didn't make it when I first got it but just started. Any clue what that is?

Welcome! Not sure how far Newry is from you, but there's a big Rally America race there this weekend.

Welcome! I'm an unabashed Maine lover, and though I don't live there I do visit at least a couple times a year.

As for the rattle sound...sounds in general are tough to diagnose over the interwebs. Would you be able to take a video?
