I'm in the Bay Area, CA, and this is my first subaru. It will take some getting used to get used to the short gears in this car (I owned a '92 stealth R/T Twin Turbo before, so much longer gears).

Congrats on getting the best STi ever! Looks pretty clean. Any mods done already?

Interestingly, you bought the STi with the revised TALLER gearing! The 2004-2006 had even shorter gearing for 1-4.

Thanks! As far as I can tell it's completely stock. The glovebox has a couple things that look like they go into the Access Port, which I am going to have to learn about.

My first and second gear really whine louder than any car I've had, but from what I have read so far it sounds like that's normal on these cars?

Subaru Gearboxes have a reputation for being "dramatic."

    (Read: yes, that's relatively normal)
