    New and needing help!

Hi! I'm Alicia and new to the Subaru world. I bought my bugeye a couple months ago but it is having a hard time running. We also have a Talon and just bought a 91 Miata yesterday. I need to learn how and where to post about my sad Subaru problems.

At the moment it starts but is making a terrible idling noise and when I push the gas the RPMs don't move and it makes a loud clicking noise. We replaced the spark plugs when it wouldn't turn on two months ago then the crank position sensor and it started right up but when I drove it, it was running terribly with sputtering and jerking. Then it threw a cylinder 2 misfire code. My husband switched the second and forth spark plug boots, then switched them back when it didn't start. Now it is making the idle noises and not moving at all. Any help or advice?

    Thank you!

It's mostly stock but has a vf39 and sti top mount. I'm not sure if it has a stock fuel pump but it does have stock injectors.

You can't safely run that turbo on stock injectors, so I would imagine the engine is blown.. probably broken ringlands by your description.

Before pulling the engine out and tearing it down I would perform a compression test just to get an idea where you stand.

I don't know if it's tuned. We bought it from the dealer a few months ago and hadn't changed anything.

I would be raising a stink with that dealer if I were you. Bugeyes can stand up to bolt ons with no tuning, but a turbo swap? Not so much. Where are you? What are the local laws regarding selling used cars?

Yea, you can't swap the turbo without proper supporting mods and a tune and expect the engine to last more than a couple months.

Since you bought the car from a dealership I would first try to get them to take responsibility.

Just an update, the dealership is taking no responsibility so we are on our own. Since the car is starting up again I don't think the engine is blown...hopefully. But now weare looking at the fuel pump regulator. Thanks for your help guys!
