    Want a WRX, but...

I live over 400km (250 miles) from the nearest Subaru dealer.

I don't do huge miles, especially in winter, but need a (northern Alberta friendly) year round car. My biggest concern is that I suffer a warentee issue that leaves the car undrivable and me with the problem of getting it to a dealer.

The question is, how likely is a post '09 wrx to have such an issue. I have joined this fourm to try to find out. I'll be searching and asking in the coming weeks.

    Thanks.

Not really any big warranty issues are occurring in the post 2009 WRXs. They've been pretty reliable.

It was the late 2008 build date MY2009 WRXs that had bearing issues, but a lot of them have been replaced under warranty by now if they've failed.

So if you go for 2010 or older, you're likely to be fine as long as you keep up with maintenance. I suspect you would fair very well with a WRX in your climate.

The GRs have been pretty reliable. That being said every car is different. There is no way of predicting what will or won't happen to your particular car.

Are you buying new or used? If you are buying used other factors have to be taken into consideration like mods, warranty, adherence to maintenance schedule, etc.
