    new lurker

Howdy y'all! I've been lurking around the forum trying to learn about the WRX. Have a sale pending on my current car, 2012 Hyundai Veloster, and once it goes through I'm going to be the proud new owner of a Plasma Blue WRX Wagon, never been more excited! Anyway, thought I'd introduce myself, looking forward to being part of this forum soon.

I'm sorry, no one else is allowed to buy plasma blue cars, my jealousy does not allow it.

    Thanks for all the welcomes!

The Veloster is a pretty awesome car, incredibly economical, unique looking, and packed with technology, but if you like to really drive a car it's not so awesome. It's been great to me with my commuting, I drive around 80 miles a day due to work, averaging 33 mpg. I sold my bike and now I have nothing to give me my fix of a thrilling ride anymore, so I'm working towards getting a WRX!

In regards to the "no turbo," I test drove the Veloster Turbo to see if that would help any, turns out the turbo powered version only crawls slightly faster than the naturally aspirated engine, I think some website said they got their 0-60 time only 0.1 seconds faster. So that turbo is very underwhelming as well.

Once I figure out how pics work on this forum I'll put a couple up of Ralph the Veloster.

    Welcome!

+1 on technology. it is very much more up to date than the WRX. However it is Extremely lacking on the performance side. Not only is it not fast not handle well. IDK how they can be comparing it to the SI or the GTI. It is overall just not a fun drive. If technology and fuel economy are you aim go for the Sonota Hybrid.
    Good choice on the switch.

The WRX just came off the truck, the dealer texted me a few photos but said I couldn't come drive it and look at it until tomorrow, gotta send it through the process to get it ready. I can't wait!Click image for larger version.
