Decided to pick up an STi

    Hello.

I picked up my first Subaru on the night of May 24, 2013 at Timmons Long Beach Subaru (California). The people there were very helpful and they did the best to get me the best deal for my brand new '13 STi.

I used to own a 2004 Lancer Evolution VIII.

Rebuilt 4G63. Head Studs, HKS 264/264 camshafts, titanium springs and retainers, o2 housing, turboback exhaust, Injen SRI, intercooler, tune from Road Race Engineering, coilover suspension, etc. 289AWHP.

    Here are some pictures:

I had tons of fun with the Evo, and will miss it.

I made a great move on this awesome monster:

My plans within the first 36,000 miles are to keep it simple and tint the windows, LED DRL fog lights, and window visors.

    -Jonathan

Ive been having a strange fixation with Evos lately. What made you switch over? I have zero experience with evos so just purely curious.
    Find a low-mileage one-owner unmodified '04/'05 and you're golden.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall.
Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Welcome to the forum. How does the STI compare to the EVO so far?

Honestly, before the Evo, I was looking for a WRX/ STi. At the time, I couldn't afford the cars, so I got the Evo because the stealership offered me a good deal on the Evo

Come to find out, I got the car with a blown head gasket..cough cough South Coast Mitsubishi.. ahem.

This was found out a few months after the purchase, which was past the 1 month/ 3,000 miles warranty that they offered. I then dumped a small fortune into the car and modified it during the engine rebuild.

So far, the Evo is definitely more agile on acceleration and the handling was superb. Now, I am sure once I get the STi modified, I can make it as good as or even better than my setup on the Evo.

So, the switch was made because I guess the STi was something I wanted for the longest. On paper, it does seem that the Evo is better than the STi, but that can always be debated. Before the change, it was either the EVO X or the STi.

I am very happy with the trade in.

Two beautiful cars... I like the look of those older Evos so much more than the latest generation. Welcome!

Thanks, everybody. I have not done much to the car, but I like the way the tint makes my car look:

The next thing I want to do is lower the car. Anyways, I am thrilled everytime I get in this car. Love it, haha.
