Hello all! New member 2013 WRX...

    Hey,

I purchased my 2013 WRX in March of this year and already put about 5k miles on it. Just too much fun to drive. So far have an Invidia CBE and just ordered my AP and SF Intake, should get it next week. Plan on getting either 18x9 or 9.5 rims not sure which yet.

Will try to post some pics I took yesterday...

    Thanks!

The reason I wanted 17s was for quickness, but they seem so small in the wheel well. Are people rubbing with wider than 8.5? I drive my car like I stole so rubbing does matter, I'm more for performance than looks. Also I like to nail the Tail of the Dragon (318 curves in 11 miles) and rubbing would be an issue there.

I have a 2011 STI sedan and am running 18x9's with 255 35 18's. No rubbing. My suspension is probably stiffer (since we are both stock), but I drive it pretty hard and have zero rubbing issues. I think if you were to go to a 265 or wider tire, which you would probably want for a 9.5, then you would run into rubbing issues.

Welcome! I hate to direct you to the nastysock, but here's a great thread on fitting wheels for these cars. The widebody allows for stuffing some pretty wide tires under there and you don't have to get too ugly with the offset. It depends on the suspension setup you want and if you want it lowered, so take that into consideration for sure.

I'm a function > form guy myself, but I agree that the 17s "look small" on these cars.
