did you change the upipe or decat it?
This is a discussion on Hi all, pleased to introduce the Shoopster within the New Member Hangout forums, part of the Community - Meet other Enthusiasts category; did you change the upipe or decat it?...
this is my up-pipe. there are many up-pipes like it, but this one is mine :-)
it's installed. happy to report it's not the little-shop-of-horrors type, the mesh is on the outside only. (i dam near had an anxiety attack when i read EJ257's write up and double-checked).
we didn't wrap it finally, either. well, we wrapped it, and unwrapped it (when we read not to over-do it, which we had), and then wrapped it differently (without wrap on the flex), then finally unwrapped it (when I read that wrapping just one piece could superheat it and the adjoining ones).
New brake discs and oil change too.
And I might need to do something about the exhaust after all, it is pretty loud apparently. Any advice?
Edit: I didn't quite answer you, it's catless; the sensor is removed and plugged

gotcha. wondered if ya decatted the stock or bought a new one and i see ya bought a new one lol. what exhaust do you have??
Hi! Internet was down all day.
Downpipe seems to be stock (it's encased in a steel shell stamped Subaru), but from there to the muffler, I've no idea. Maybe you can tell me...?

Looks like either an HKS Hi-Power or some internet Ebay knockoff. I'm leaning towards knock-off considering the rusting and pitting I see. HKS at least uses decent steel.

That picture makes me happy to live in Florida, no rust on any of my cars ever.
I didn't get to talk to a previous owner - i mean the real owner, not the dealer who bought it at auction before reselling it, so I've no idea what's on it, what's stock and what's not
No I don't, specifically because the salt air damages everything, including your vehicles. Gutters, A/C units, screen doors, anything metal just doesn't last. I'm about 5 miles from the ocean and that's close enough for me.
About 10 minutes to the speedway, the ocean, the mall, etc. Daytona is not very big as far as area goes.
As a side note, I did a track day at DIS on my 2011 ZX-10r in October of 2011. I couldn't believe how vertical the banking looks the first time you come onto it from the infield. It was like nothing I had ever ridden on before. It literally looks like a wall that you're getting ready to run into.
I managed to hit 180 mph crossing the start/finish line with my best lap time a 2:08:xx for the full 3.5 mile road course.
