When I am driving in 5th gear and try to move the shifter and or take it out of gear I can hear what sounds like a little whine or hiss. I have had my short throw shifter installed a week now but have just noticed it today. should i put it on jacks again and check things out or is this a trans/clutch problem?
It only happens when going from 5th into N (and then whatever gear you choose)?

Correct, or in 4th even. I can also notice it if im in gear and hold the shifter off to one side.
Ater driving about 300 miles I started hearing the wine/hiss even while shifting into second and now it seems to be a pretty constant hiss.. Has any one had this type of problem.
