    My First WRX and Post

Hi everyone. Yesterday I purchased my first wrx, a limited 2013 hatchback in dgm. It is amazing! Everything I've always wanted in a ride, from the engine to the interior. I just wanted to introduce myself and also ask a couple questions. I know you're not supposed to take the rpms past 4k until you reach 1,000 miles and that you shouldn't really use the cruise control for too long, not that I would even use cc, but is there anything else I should be aware of?

Also, I plan on doing some mods down the road but only after driving it for a couple months to figure out what I would want to add. I know I'll want to increase power/performance without jeopardizing the longevity of the engine's life and the warranty. Any suggestion on what I should do? It would also be cool to hear from everyone on what they did when they first got their wrx.

Thanks everyone, I look forward to hearing for you.

    Welcome!

    Straight from the horse's mouth:
1000 miles: Drive calmly for the first 1,000 miles and vary your driving with a normal mix of city and highway.

    Avoid hard starts and stops.
Avoid over-revving the engine, try to keep RPMs under 4000.
Vary your speeds over the full range of city and highway driving
Don't use cruise control much, if at all.
City and freeway driving is fine because that will vary the speeds
As far as mods go, check out the link in my sig for a good place to start reading/learning.
