what's up guys, new guy here in San Diego, i just bought my 1st subaru 2days ago.Its a '13 wrx hatch.
i traded in my tuned 06 mustang gt and i must say i am not regretting it one bit, i really like how the wrx handles power wise it is no where near the mustang but i must say it is a lot more fun to drive than the mustang.
i have a question for you guys the dealer didn't say anything about a break in period, but i see that most of you do break in your subaru. Is it really necessary ?

I think once you get it broke in and MoD it you will like the power just as much as the Mustang GT.. I was never impressed with the 09 and under Mustangs but my new WRX puts a smile on my face every time i drive down the road.. Mustangs for me were always way too impractical the back seats were unusable if your over 3 feet and the rear wheel drive and for how light the back end is in them makes the car almost suicidal in the winter.. WRX has good power , AWD, light weight awsome Rally package that your going to love! 4 doors and very practical.. I owned tons of rear wheel Drive Muscle cars (except Mustang) and buy far i Love this WRX the Most out of any car ive ever owned... I think you will too!

Welcome. You should follow the break in as indicated in your owners manual

^^ Yep look in your manual. Long story short, try to keep it under 4K (or so) RPM for the first 1,000 miles.

    New Car Break-in period

1000 miles: Drive calmly for the first 1,000 miles and vary your driving with a normal mix of city and highway.

    Avoid hard starts and stops.
Avoid over-revving the engine, try to keep RPMs under 4000.
Vary your speeds over the full range of city and highway driving
Don't use cruise control much, if at all.
City and freeway driving is fine because that will vary the speeds

Welcome to the forum. Most dealers ususally advise you about the break in process. If they didn't ,then like the others said it in the manual. Under 4k rpm for the first 1000 miles.

I may have been being a bit jokey Perhaps we need a sardonic font in addition to the sarcastic font?
