I have a short driveway that's slightly uphill, but I slip the clutch quite a bit when I back it in. I can't imagine anything sillier than parking it in the garage when the door is closed...![]()

hey i have a drive way so i always put it ass in first so when i pull it out it i dont have to mess around with reverse and deal with the cold
my question is i noticed that when i'm reversing into the driveway i'm always riding the clutch cuz if i let it out it moves too fast do you guys have the same experience?
i live in nyc so it's not like i have a backyard to pull a u-turn in

I have a '13 wrx and almost exclusively slip the clutch in reverse, needing little to no gas... Unless backing up a hill
I do the same. Slip it a little to get out of the garage and let it roll in neutral out into the street. My driveway has a slight grade towards the street, and living in a small neighborhood and leaving for work at 530am helps too.
When I was taught stick I was told you always slip because you will never need to be in reverse fully engaged unless your a get-a-way driver.
I slip it in reverse, slip it in 1st going up my driveway...whatever the situation calls for. As with most things, if you're smooth in your motions, and using only as much engine as needed, you'll be fine in the long run.
And then there's the times when I'm pulling in, and want to hear the boxer rev up one last time before I shut it down. I love the smell of clutch lining in the morning.
