Hi everyone. I'm Giuseppe (G-Sep) from Boston. Just registered on this site about 10 minutes ago. I just signed papers on my new 2013 WRX base model yesterday and am picking it up tomorrow after work.

I am extremely excited about leaving the VW/Audi scene and getting into the Subie one. I previously owned a 2001 Jetta, and while she did good to me for the past 7 years/80,000 miles, it was time to let her go and get something more reliable, AWD, a warranty and POWER!!! This will be my second turbocharged car (Jetta was the first, if you could even consider that lol).

After having a look around other forums (NASIOC, IWSTI, etc.) I liked what I saw here in the form of information and community. I look forward to learning a lot of information about my new purchase and future modification purchases and to meet some new people in the process.

They stock tires are incredible! (on asphalt) They're summer rated tires... I wouldn't drive them below freezing... get some winter tires ASAP!

Yeah it's looking like I'm gonna go for the Blizzaks with the steelies from tirerack. No tps though, too much of a hassle to go get them paired up, plus the additional $140 for something I keep an eye on myself isn't worth it.

    Re: Hi Everybody!

Well brought her home around 6pm and it's been nonstop learning about it and driving. This car feels so much better than my jetta.

Only issue is the smell. I park it in the garage and I notice a light burning type of smell. Don't know if this is just something because it's new and only has 30 miles on it, or if I might possibly be burning the clutch a little trying to get used to the engagement point and being smooth.

You are burning the clutch. Pretty normal during break in on a new car that you are not used to driving.
