new here. about to finally get a new car just for me. no more adjusting the seat every day after the wifey uses it. well, probably placing my order tomorrow when my sales girl gets back from her day off.

    base model 2013 5 door

is it seriously an 8-12 week wait like she said it would be??? wow.

not new to motorsports; i've been driving on r-comps for a long time now. but, i only have plans for this car to be my daily driver at the moment. who knows when i'll change my mind ,tho...

Welcome to the forum. The wait is pretty long. 8-12 sounds like the minimum.

Always amazes me that people think 8-12 weeks is a long to wait for a car. When I was selling MINIs in 2004, there was a 6 month wait for a Cooper S.

i just sorta figured they'd have a couple on the lot... somewhere...

no offense, but it's not like i'm getting a ferrari or anything. just found it a little odd. versions of the other 2 cars i was considering (GTI and TDI golf) were on the lot ready to go...

Lack of availability helps keep used values high. Nice when you're ready to sell. Think of it that way and the 12 weeks will pass by more quickly. Maybe ;o)
