My First Car is a Bugeye

I figured I might as well introduce myself and my car before I go about posting too much so here it goes!

I'm 15 and have put every penny I've earned aside since I was 4 years old so that I could buy my dream car. I go to high school and see the 300Cs and Camaros that "daddy bought" and I'm thankful I have my own car. I have been looking for my gem for a looong time and finally found it last weekend

It's a 2002 WRX 5 speed with aftermarket cat-back exhaust, BOV, and struts. It has 142,369 Kms on it and it's my dream car. I plan to add an STi wing/trunk, Cobb Stage 2 Tuning Pack, Cobb Uppipe, and then swap out the cat-back for a Cobb turbo-back, and maybe add some aftermarket headlights. But who knows what goodies I'll find afterwards!

I can't wait until I acquire my license and gain my "freedom". but for now I can only look at my very own Subie every day and simply wait!

welcome! treat her well! wish i couldve saved since 4 years old...im 21 and am really great at spending but not saving haha. be sure to READ as much as you can about first mods. When you do your turbo back be sure to replace the stock uppipe with a catless one and then get her tuned.

When you say get her tuned, do you mean that I should be going to a Subaru specialty shop and get them to map the ECU? Because with the Cobb Stage 2, you get the Accessport tuner and I assumed that would be sufficient to add once my uppipe, downpipe, and turbo back are on?

Welcome! The AP should be sufficient enough for a simple stage 2 setup. However, the very first mod you should consider is your up pipe. You do not need a tune to change the up pipe. Replace that just for peace of mind. Also think about going back to a stock BPV. That BOV is doing nothing for you but extra noise.

Have fun here, read all the stickies and enjoy your car

After my Mopar 11' I have no love for Mopars..... looks like you got yourself a little gem in your bugeye. Wish you the best of luck with it.... jealous that someone has some snow.
