'13 SWP 5 Door-Premium Happy New Owner-North Dakota Love..ok hate!

So this past Wednesday I scheduled a pick up this past Saturday down in Iowa City (I'm currently located in Bismarck, ND) to pick up a 2005 Audi S4 with 60k miles on it to replace my current '08 Legacy GT Limited with 70k miles on it. The purchase would have been a wash financially, with an older, but prized S4. After looking up maintenance costs and seeing frightening repair bills in the next 30k miles I quickly decided to back out (this was on Friday). Naturally I started scoping out some new options with warranties etc.and came down to two options for new, GTI or WRX? This decision didn't last long, however coming from previously owning a Jetta (lemon) vs. an AWD dream hatch. Yes, the GTI had a vastly nicer interior, the WRX has always been a sense of childish curiosity for me.

WRX it was, now finding one as I really didn't want to order and have a 14 week waiting period (I'm way to impulsive for that). In Bismarck ND we have one Subaru Dealership and it was quoting 14-20 weeks out for new custom orders with none coming in. I found a couple 420mi away in Minneapolis, MN and called on them and they were all either being purchased as I was talking with them on the phone or were already pre purchased. Decided to give one more a call that I hadn't seen before and was the color,I wanted with the Base trim which is exactly what I was looking for and the price was lower than others advertised... It was having paperwork done on it at that exact moment, until the sales guy told me that the financing did not go through and it was mine with a Down payment and a 36 hour pickup. Blizzard warning and all, headed out with the 08 Legacy and was at the dealer Monday morning for pickup! When I arrived, to my surprise it was the Premium model (the website had it listed wrong) with the premium price tag. Since I made the trip at their mistake, I was purchasing the premium trim at the base price!

Still in the break in period and can only imagine the fun, spirited cruises ahead!

Previous Cars: 94 Gr. Am Gt, 2000 Jetta GLS vR6, 2008 Legacy GT Limited (SPT Intake,SPT Exhaust).

This was my 30yr old Xmas Present!

I'm not sure what is going to be done on it, if anything, I've always been a big fan of OEM, but intake/exhaust/tune sounds enticing!

You already have snow on the ground...you need something other than those summer tires first!

Haha yes. I have winter tires from my legacy that are waiting the steelies to arrive!

a big +1 to what Will said. Those stock summer tires are TERRIBLE in snow. Pick yourself up a set of winter tires.

My weekend back in Minneapolis brings some early minor mods, if you can even call them that.

1200 miles.

Found out once it was dark that we had red foot well lights from Subaru.

On this weekend.
Perrin Drop in Air filter
Perrin Pitch stop
Kartboy STS
Front and rear bushings
215 45r17 steelies with General Altimax's Arctic (from my 08 Legacy gt)
3m Film on hood, mirrors, door edges and top of rear bumper.
Valentine 1 hardwired to fusebox with a Mini Fuse Add a line.
Debadged rear hatch, only left the WRX

We had 3m Film already on the car when we picked it up from the dealer on the both sides of the rear doors down in front of the rear wheel wells, is this on all new WRX?

Also noticing significant noise from the wheel wells when we roll over sand and other pebbles on the roads, does everyone have this? We don't hear the noises in our other vehicle.

I'll get some better pics up later with the winter shoes on.
