Welcome, for my car im doing everything i can to maintain it so im following subarus recommended maintenance (doing it myself not the dealer) The snow tires i have are firestone winterforce, they so far have been great in the snow and are somewhat cheap

Welcome and congrats on the car. I'm running studded general altimax artics, I chose them because they seem to rate well on tire rack even without the studs. They have done well taking me over a mountain pass or two on my way to the ski areas.

    Welcome

There is no overall "best" winter tire. What you looking to spend? Are you looking for regular snow tires or performance snows?

thanks for all the welcomes, I am looking for a good performance winter tire studless. my comute covers a lot of black road so the studs would wear too quickly. in looking to go no more than $800-$1000 on them. I will be mounting on seperate set of wheels so as soon as the snow stops there are coming off. looking at blizzacks or toyo observe's, any personal input?
