My 05 WRX had that problem and my 13 WRX is better but I can tell it will eventually be the same issue over time. Its worth it once I'm moving forward and that boxer rumble begins.

I also do the shift dance but am curious to try the double clutch method. Both aren't detrimental to the tranny/clutch right? I use to mash my 05 into reverse and I KNOW that was bad for it lol.

Old world solution, press clutch navigate gear selector into second then reverse, drive...always works when reverse is sticky.

A little Astroglide will help as well when going into reverse.

I usually just try to shift right into reverse and most the time it will fall into gear but at times it wont go into reverse so I push in the clutch, blip the throttle then try to shift into reverse again. That works for me and is really quick solution. Its almost like second nature to so it, i don't even really think about it.

Will try shifting into 2nd then reverse next time to see how well that method works. Good suggestions everyone.

It's like the original nintendo, where everyone has their own little trick getting the damn thing to work right.

I don't have this issue either, well not too often anyway. Just randomly here and there.
