whats up everybody, my name is Zack and i'm from boston. i am a member of the r1 forum so i know how informational these things can be , so when i bought my 05 wagon last week , i decided that i should join here asap. i look forward to seeing some awesome builds, and also learning about my new to me car. anyways about my car, it has 3" up and down pipe, maddad whisperer catback ,spt short ram intake, full sti suspension, jdm lights and sti hood scoop, hella horns, drt mud flaps and front skid plate, rear differential cover , and for now is has some rota torque 17"s but next spring i will be getting something nice. well i just wanted to say hi and introduce myself, if any one is from my area hit me up!

nothing yet im looking for a cobb accesport, but my money is kind of tight after the purchase and the quick upgrades i did. i need some winter tires, and then i will buy the cobb, so hopefully in a month ill be all set.

Yes the accesport will be coming shortly, do you think im hurting the car by driving it untill i get it tuned, or am i just not getting the full potential? Also where do you recommend i buy from? Are there any forum vendors, or places that have good prices?

they can run alright for alittle but get it tuned as soon as you can. Check out Kronos Performance for a vendor. Adams a site vendor (usually available on chat) and has great deals on parts, usually the Accessports come with some free products (like i got an AP and free Hella Supertones). some other good vendors are FMS and Oakos ( have only dealt with buying parts from Kronos). but goodluck!

You shouldn't be driving the vehicle hard with the modifications you have. To give yourself a bit of a safety net, you should run a vacuum line from the compressor to the wastegate (this will limit you to spring pressue). While not ideal, it will prevent the car from overboosting and putting you into a dangerous situation. When you get your AP, you can then go back, and flash the S2 map.

As for where to buy an AP from, I'd either buy used (be sure it's unmarried, otherwise you have an expensive paperweight), or seeing whether Adam (Kronos Performance) or Mason (FMS) can hook you up. Both of them typically run specials often, and are great to work with.

That's up to you. Ask your friend how he does his tuning, some tuners use the AP so you would have to get it anyways. Otherwise, the most important secondary function of an AP is for datalogging, which can be done for significantly cheaper through other means.
