So I was bored yesterday, and just decided to do some in depth research on 2002/03 WRX's as I plan so buy one in the upcoming months. I was on a site (forget the name) and it said this: Automatically turn on lights: Yes. Does this mean it has daylight running lights? If not, what does that mean? Sorry for such a nooby question, but I have never heard about this, and if they do or not lol. Any help is appreciated!

Probably does. Check Specs on edmunds or whatever. it'll say if they come with DRL. If not, someone must have wired them in for some reason? I don;t see why cars would automatically have DRL on their own if they dont come from the factory

No, all USDM WRXs since launch in 2002 have come standard with daytime running lights.

Another thing I thought was cool is all Subaru's have lights that turn off when you turn the car off. You never have to worry about leaving them on!!

Welcome btw, good luck with the search!

PS. Don't flip the switch on top of your steering column

i'm not sure if the 2008+ models have this.. but on 02-07's we have a switch on top of our steering column. when you turn the switch on, it activates your "parking lights" which stay on constantly. many of us have accidentally hit the switch, resulting in dead batteries because our lights were on all day.

It's not referring to daytime running lamps. The site refers to the fact that (when you remove the key from the ignition), the headlights turn off regardless of whether the switch is on or off.
