    Hi guys!

Figured I would break the ice and post some pictures of my recent upgrade. I had a 2001 Audi A4 before I bought my bugeye, but hated that car. Sold it after a year of ownership. I have been hooked on Subaru's since my first WRX test drive in 2002. I picked up my bugeye in October 2002...loved it for 10 years, but it was time for a change. Picked up a 2013 WRX Limited 5 Door that arrived at the dealership the Friday before Labor Day weekend...I bought it the next day. Loving it so far, way more civilized than the 2003.

    On to the pics!

My 2003 I bought new in October 2002...last pic taken of her

That bugeye is beautiful. Just curious, how many miles did you put on her over the years?

    Grats on the new ride!

    Good question!

The 2003 had a raw mechanical feel that is mostly gone with the new one. It would vibrate a bit at idle, you could actually hear the turbo spooling, etc...it basically had a lot of character and made me smile every time I drove it. I had coilovers, strut bars, and corner balanced, so it handled great, much better than the 2013, but the ride was getting to be too harsh for me. The steering feel seemed to be more direct than the 2013. Loved the Aspen White

The 2013 has a lot more torque at low RPM. The power is considerably less peaky than the 2.0 liter (I had no engine modifications). I have to downshift a lot less now. The new one has some of the same characteristics as the 2003, like the "grinding" noise during deceleration in second gear while coasting. It really feels like a more mature version of the 2003. The interior is very comfortable, but the seats are not as good for spirited driving as the bugeye. The stock radio sucks in both cars. After 10 years with the bugeye, the 2013 is really the perfect car for me. I didn't enjoy the break in period (who does!), but now that I am at 2K miles, I really like the 2013 engine/trans responsiveness over the 2003. I will probably do some tweaking of the suspension a bit just to tighten it up, but I want to put a few more miles on to really define what I am looking for.

Thanks - she was basically all original, garaged or covered all the time. We have two other daily drivers, so I didn't drive it too much. Only had 95K miles after a bit over 10 years.

Traded in...didn't feel like messing with private sale. If I wasn't so lazy, I could have gotten more for it, but I did OK on the trade.

Damn...! You drive a little bit!

I am a pretty avid detailer, but I couldn't handle having a black car.

Yep, suspension research is about to start!

There are a lot of recent threads about it, but since you've been in the community so long I'm sure you know the regular do's n dont's.. lol For our cars the choices are still kinda limited but of those there are some good choices out there.
