Or are you trying to do the whole stretched tire/herrafrush thing?
Offsets between +40 and +53 are probably best for you, otherwise you start screwing with how the car should handle.

I just picked up a 2012 dark grey wrx sedan. i am interested in some suggetions for changing the wheels. i would like to use my same tires just looking for a 17x9 with a more agressive offset. any suggetions?

I just want the more aggressive stance. I might stay 17x8 just lookin for it to stick out a little more then I'm also going to put rally armor flaps on it
I don't see a 235 size tire sitting right on a 9" wheel. If you're gonna go for wider wheels, get new tires too.
