IN NEED OF OPINION FAST! 2002 WRX 175k!

Im looking for my first car, and I would like more than anything to get a WRX! But the thing is my only option really is this car here: 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX Obviously its not in the best of conditions. But I do plan on putting a good amount of money into it. But what I want to know is, is buying a 2002 WRX with 175,000 miles on it a bad decisions. I don't want to buy a car that will die in the next 2 months. I do not plan on driving it extremely hard, stupid, or anything like that, i want to make this baby last. I'm not going to be putting tons of miles on it, but it will be my daily. Are these Subies built to last past 200,000? Need to know pretty fast. Thanks in advance!

Wow, if that ad is to be believed, then that looks to be a great deal. It's a one owner car, and the owner has obviously cared for it. Definitely worth taking a look it.

If it really is stock and has all that maintenance documented, then that's a great price, and I personally would go for it.

As with most modern vehicles, Subarus are very reliable and will run well beyond 200k miles with proper maintenance and care. I wouldn't consider 175k a deal-breaker if it's been cared for, and it would appear that this one has been.

That would a pretty lowball offer. $5k is a great price, $4.5k would be borderline insulting, IMO. I'm not a wheeler dealer though...

If they were highway miles and it has a good documented maintenance record, no reason why that couldn't keep on chugging along. If you plan on rebuilding the engine and upgrading and such in the future, this could be a great candidate at that price...if you could knock a couple hundred down for a cash deal, go for it. Could be a steal.
