Question regarding bumper repair vs replace

Hello, first post here. My 2002 WRX was nailed in the parking lot last week. Insurance wants to repair my bumper instead of replacing it. Wondering what you guys think. I've attached a photo of the bumper here.

Insurance is retarded. What does the shop estimate suggest? Ask for the check based on estimate and go get it done yourself if thats what they want to do.

That should be replaced as the plastic is surely warped where its creased.

Thanks for pointed out that it is creased there. Have had a hard time seeing the details being emotionally attached to the vehicle.

Yeah I have no idea how that could be cheaper to fix than replace.

Dude you could probably even find another bumper used somewhere already in CGM (or is that PSM?) for $150 or so and put it on yourself. Take the check from insurance...and you have extra cash in your pocket?

Have the body shop check for hidden damage behind the bumper. There are crush panels that have styrofoam between them that are probably smashed and need to be replaced as well. Otherwise, the next blow will not be cushioned, and will really do some damage, IMHO.
