1st time subaru owner, 05 WRX wagon

Hi this is my first time on this forum, I got my 05 Subaru WRX wagon in March of this year. I've been wanting to make some upgrades but i don't really know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

From what I've been reading, up pipe, down pipe and exhaust is a great place to start. Though I've only had my 02 for two days now, lol. I'd definitely change your up pipe if it has a catalytic converter, as it can deteriorate and send chunks of metal into your turbo and destroy it.

Overall plans for the car in the long run will help a ton on deciding what mods to do now as you dont want to have to go back and re mod. Velislide is correct about your OEM Uppipe possibly shredding your turbo.

Anyways PM us if you guys need parts or advice. We would be more than willing to help on both.

My overall plans are to make it have a little more power and to sound good too. I don't need the fastest car around haha

I do have one question for you guys, I smell something burning almost every time I drive my car, when I pop the hood, it smells like it is coming from the passenger side of the motor. What is that?? Every person i've asked has no clue what it is, though no one I know has a Subaru! Help please!

Check your CV boot. Its probably throwing grease all over your downpipe.
No matter how many time I say it, I'll always sound odd.

Is there any smoke when you smell this burning or when you open the hood?

My fiance checked out my car (i have no clue whats under the hood lol, not really a car person - this forum has a lot of jibberish lingo) anyway my CV boot looks fine! any other suggestions?!

Oil leak, and if so most likely valve cover gasket, turbo supply/return line, other, in that order of probability in my opinion. Many such leaks burn off on the header and never reach the ground.
