Just wanted to introduce myself, and my car. My name is Emilio, I am 16 years old, I live in North Alabama and this is my second car and its definitely more fun than my first one (2001 automatic ford focus). Ive been reading this forum for a while and learned almost everything i know about my car from here. Now about her, shes a 2003 WRX stock motor and turbo, running an accessPort stage 1 tune, she is lowered on coil-overs and 17 inch drag dr 38 wheels, has an aftermarket turbo-back exhaust, a cat-less uppipe and a tranny from an 05. She has only one real issue the AC fuse under the dash keeps blowing im not sure what it is, I plan on searching some more and maybe start a thread in the proper place, if I can't find the answer, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention it here for now. I will post pics soon.

Welcome and congrats. Please be safe out there: you are a young driver with zero experience and a turbocharged car.

With a turboback exhaust you should be running a Cobb Stage 2 tune, FYI.

Make sure you get the stage 2 tune. Also be very careful, you have car that is going to be a lot faster than you might be able to handle. At stock it's like going from zero to "Holy crap! This is awesome," that much faster. Get that tune done ASAP otherwise you can kiss that motor goodbye. Kaboom goes the engine for the one that is not tuned.

Is there an issue specifically with the Stage 1 map on a down piped bugeye?

I ask because a car with no tune at all (no AP, no nothing) would be fine.

What is the problem? Does the Stage 1 lean out or what? A bugeye does not need a tune to go catless otherwise.

The OP already went to Stage 2, but I find it curious that he could have also reverted to stock map without risking the car.

    Thanks.
