first upgrade suggestions for 2004 WRX+need to fix temp gage for turbo.

Hey all,

I just bout a Silver 2004 Stock WRX. It has an AEM cold intake thats it. I bought the the car from a friend. It has 116k mi on it. It had new header put on at 70k mi. I'm looking to do some good upgrades to the car that aren't to expensive at this time. I'd like to start with brakes. Brembos at $1k+ are out of my range. Any good recommendations in this area? I am considering this first as the car needs new breaks. Or should I focus elseware? Any useful sites other then ebay or craigs list for purchases would be awesome as well!

Almost for got. The temp gage next to the turbo gage isn't working. It looks like the wire is hanging underneath the car. My buddy gave me a new wire to hook up but not sure how hard it is. Should I tackle this task or take to a mechanic? Not much car experience besides radio install and brakes.

BBKs on a vehicle that isn't a track car is a waste. If you want to stop faster, get better tires. If you want better feel, look at pads/lines/fluid.

When you talk about a temperature gauge, what are you referring to? EGT sensor (you should have a CEL, if that's the case)?

Ignore eBay/CL. Look to the vendors on the site for purchasing parts.
