New 2012 WRX Owner, Ohio

Hi! I just stumbled upon this website the other day, and it seems like a great community! I got my 2012 WRX back in May, but I'll give my Subie story.

Way back in high school I really wanted a 2002 WRX, however my parents never bought me one haha. Follow this a few years later my Ex crashed her little Chevy Aveo during a heavy snow storm and wanted a safe AWD car, so she ended up purchasing a 2010 Subaru Legacy. While shopping around I took the opportunity to test drive a 2010 WRX, I fell in love and had my sites on one ever since. Move forward a year, I was driving a 2001 Jetta at the time and around 107k miles the transmission completely fails (automatic) I decided it was time to get a new car. After falling in love with the AWD Sabaru's I knew I wanted one, however I did not have the cash to buy the WRX that I wanted so I went with a used 2009 Impreza Outback Sport. I loved this car, it had 9k miles on it when I bought it and drove it for another 15k. One day I went to the dealer for an oil change they had a nice Shiny 2012 Lightening Red WRX. Needless to say I ended up leaving my Impreza Outback Sport at the dealer and left with the WRX Best Splurge spend I've ever made.

Got the car with 45 miles on it now at 4,200. It was a base base model WRX, with the exception of the SPT exhaust. I've been loving my car for the last few months, and a friend at work loved it so he went out and purchased 2011 STI, and started doing some mods. I started researching and decided for the cost of the upgrades and the power I would get I wanted to as well.

Cobb Short throw shifter + Cobb Knob (lol)
Tint

Planning:
Subie Fog lights (Can't have a subie without them IMO)
Upgraded Brakes (Red Calipers)

Can't say enough about the Cobb mods!
