    2005 speaker replacement

Recently bought an 05 and tried replacing stock speakers with Rockford power. After completion, still sounded horrible. Head unit is still stock. Is this a common problem until you replace the head unit? Or did I mess up with installation?

Ok first off any rockford fosgate speakers are an awesome upgrades for audio quality, but on the downside any aftermarket speakers are going to require a tad bit more power. The easiest way to do that is with an aftermarket head unit, and an amp. Almost all stock head units barely provide enough power for the stock speakers, hence why when you turn stock audio equipment up all the way it sounds like absolute garbage. Those RF speakers are pretty low power, so you could probabley get away with a lower end amp, like 800watts or so. (Although it is always better to overpower audio equipment then underpower it) Your best bet is to go to Crutchfield: Car Stereo, Speakers, Home Theater, LCD TV, Digital Cameras and send them an email or open a chat, and tell them what you need and they will hook u up with a suitable amp and head unit for a good price.
