Noob '11 WRX owner in SoCAL

Sup everyone Im new to subaru WRX. I was looking for a short while to get a new WRX but had a hard time finding one at the dealers.. I had to special order them or wait awhile. which didnt do.

I went to a used car dealer and saw a '11 WRX 5 door with only 7k miles on it. scoped out the car and saw that there were mods done to it.. Didnt really want to buy a modded WRX but I fell in love with it, so I bought it.

I hope I didnt make a mistake...

I also did the math and seems like i get 15-16mpg...

I need to find a tuner shop!

From what I can see.. Cobb full exhaust, Perrin cold air intake, Perrin fuel rail and insulated lines, top mount process west intercooler. Brake damper? Boost solenoid grimmspeed? Aem afr gauge, m7 Japan boost gauge.

I'm thinking there are other things like maybe the fuel pump and injectors. The avg. mpg reads mid to high 40's.. I need better mpg..

Was reading about ecu reflash and EM things. I think I like the AccessPort? Any thoughts?

My first mod was the cobb AP and an invidia catted downpipe and did in a 1/4 13.1@ 103mph... Cobb ap, best first mod ever! Totally recommend it!

Do you have any access to the previous owner? You need to find out if the car has been tuned (I hope so) and if so, by who.

Nope I don't know any info on the previous owner. Only thing I know is that it was originally from las Vegas. Maybe he gambled it away? Lol

I need to find a tuner in my area.. I also want Cobb short shifter. Original is way too goofy.

That actually has a fairly good list of mods on it. The ones on it aren't cheap...and are quality parts. Given that, the previous owner seems like he knew what he was doing and more than likely would have tuned for it (most likely a protune?). But yeah, you'd probably need to head to a shop to find out what kind of a tune it has.

Google and contact tuner shops in the Southwest region and find out if any of them could possibly know that car.

definitely get the AP. best $600 you could spend. plus, you really don't know what the previous owner did and going without a tune could end up doing more harm than good.

With his mods, the AP would be rather pointless...he has a TMIC and some fueling mods that an OTS map doesn't take into account. Easiest/Best thing to do would be to find a Tactrix cable, and run some logs to find out what's going on. Then you can figure out what the map is from there and have some of the more tuning savy members here take a look at the logs/map.

Then possibly take it to a tuner to see what's up.
