my son wants to trackday his 08 wrx

Hi everyone my son just got a 08 wrx and wants to start doing trackdays. It has 19000 miles on it and is all stock. What kind of things should we do and or change before we head out. Also he plans on graudully up grade stuff. We have some qustions about wheel sizes and offsets that he should look into, but taken into mind if it is best to lower it ? what suspension setup is best for track use ie shocks ,springs ,sway bars, cross braces,a arms, all tht stuff . So looking for help and info that can educate us on this stuff.

Wouldn't hurt to talk to the guys over at Turnin Concepts. They track their subaru's on a regular basis and have had some really good finishes. They're also one of the best suspension vendors you will come across. Miles over at RCE (racecomp engineering) is also a good guy to talk to in regards to mods/desired result.

Is your son actually planning on sanctioned racing in specific rule classes or just recreational track days?

There is a suspension setup that someone sells that is bilsteins and rce springs that would be best for that car. Offset want to stick with a +48. Lightest wheel/tire possible and other than that... A bottomless wallet.

thanks for your input. You know at some point im sure he will. But for him its will be work in progress do to both his time and as always money. lol But yea im sure he will . He is a AMA pro road racer for the Riders Discount .com Vesrah Suzuki team, so his time is a bit short. But you know how it is with racers,he wants to really drive it. And hes smart, and knows that streets are not for that. He looking to do wheels n tires first. Whats sizes n offsets are we looking at and he was wondering about lowering ,is that the way to go or what s the way to go.
