What should be my first mods?

I bought my 05 WRX back in early January. I finally saved up enough money to start modding the car. Right now the car is entirely stock other than being lowered 1.5inches. I was just wondering what should be the first mods I do. I have absolutely no where to start. A couple of my friends who own subies say to start with an Up pipe/Down pipe but I'm not to sure what to do so I'm here to ask you all: What should be my first mods?

Up pipe to make sure you get rid of that pesky catalytic converter, then go the Accessport route.

Agreed. If you are are going to be be increasing the hp or torque, make sure you get rid of the cat in your up pipe FIRST. You don't want any bits breaking off and shooting into your turbo.
