    Saying hi!

    Hey all,

I have an OBP '05 Legacy 2.5 GT. A little about myself. I live in Seattle, I love soccer, football, driving the great outdoors and flying helicopters.

I usually hang out on Legacygt.com whenever I spend time surfing about my car online. However, I just found out my turbo is toast and I need to replace it I'm looking for a VF43 or another model that will bolt right up, so I decided to surf as many Subie forums as possible. If anyone has a lead I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. Now to head over to the classifieds.

    Thanks,

    -Ian

    Thanks everyone!

No real mods, RAR spec C shift knob, COBB double adjustable short throw, AVO drop in filter, custom front grill. It's pretty much stock so I haven't really taken many photos, I'll try and dig one up of the grill, but I'm spending all my time online right now trying to find a damn turbo!

While you're replacing the turbo, you may as well throw a uppipe/downpipe on there (since the downpipe will be off already, and the uppipe only has two bolts left) and get a custom StageII reflash

    If funds permit, I agree.

My car was in the shop getting a DP, TGV delete(I thought this was the problem with my car since it was throwing TGV trouble codes) and a tune when they found the UP cat had destroyed itself at the expense of my turbo. I will now also need an UP with the rest of the installation.

ECD warranty may cover new OE parts. I'd reach out to SOA to see what they say about it...

An emission control device failed, causing turbo failure. You may be able to get a new factory uppipe / turbo from Subaru. A few local guys had this happen on their 2.0L WRX, after the regular factory warranty expired.

If you can get that, have them do the work, and immediately pull the uppipe out (so it doesn't happen again) and go StageII from there, saving yourself from the OOP expense of a new/used turbo.

I was under the impression that there was no UP catcon in the LGT or any 2.5L turbo Subaru motor Can anyone confirm this?
