Ladies and Gentlemen,
I can now officially announce that I am the proud owner of a 2012 WRX (Premium edition). I have wanted one since it debuted state side but could not until now afford one due to financial reasons. The earlier WRX was a big motivating factor for me to join the Marine Corps with the foolish assumption that three months of E1 pay would be enough afford one. Now, 11 years later it has paid off, although my wife made me trade my truck in for it. But well worth it!
I researched best I could between the WRX and STI models and can say that I am quite satisfied with this model. For now it has ample power and the third day of ownership it rained significantly. I could not make this car break traction. I could easily do so in my truck. However, I do have a question for the experienced modified owners on here as far as suggestions go for some mods (I have read the sticky but my mod list and requirements are somewhat different).
I am satisfied with the look of the car as well as the sound. I wouldn't mind getting a few extra ponies out of it without voiding the warranty. Also, as previously stated I am satisfied with the look and sound of the exhaust system and don't wish to mod it. Can I get the ECU tuned and get any gains close to 300bhp?
Thanks and glad that I can join this forum as a owner!

Welcome!
A dealership can deny any warranty claim if they can link a modification you did to the problem. So if you put in an aftermarket stereo and the intake hose splits, you'd be ok.
But if you tune and your turbo fails, they can say one caused the other and you're paying for a new turbo.

Welcome & congratulations.
Like already stated, any mod, especially to the ECU, can potentially be cause for warranty denial if an issue were to arise.
