think im getting a 2013

I plan on ordering a 2013 obsidian black sti limited as soon as they are available for order. (hoping for just a carryover of the 2012 model) I am new to WRX's as well as modding. I am very interested in learning and modding as much i can however. Any tip or advice?

I feel like the 2013's will be ON THE LOT by the time my ordered 2012 finally comes in. The is the longest wait ever.

OP, have you read about what the plans are for the WRX? Apparently they are going to separate it from the impreza line completely. I know the next gen WRX will have the FA20 but it seems no one is sure if that is going to be the 2013's of 2014's. I see you are looking for a carryover from '12 for '13 and I'd hope for the same in your boat. If the 2013 is a next gen, though, I would probably wait for the 2014.

I'd bet on the 2013 being a significantly revised model, especially with the super late release projected to be the fall show circuit with shipments starting late Q4-2012 or early Q1-2013.

To give you an idea how far they have been delayed, I bought my WRX June 19th 2006 and it was a 2006 model, but the 2007's were already on the lot.

I see. I was hoping the late release due to the brz. But I guess il just have to wait and see. I really dont want to wait for the 2014 is the 2013 is the new model. If they do make the new model in 2013 I may look for a 2012.

My dealer said that they will begin taking orders in the beginning of July. Does that mean the specs will be released soon?

Not sure if that says much either.. A local dealer around me told me they'd start taking orders in August.. So who knows lol

Rumor: I've read and heard on other forums that the current WRX style will be out for at least another year, and be released sometime towards the end of next year. I'd be surprised if the 2013 wasn't a refresh.

It kinda makes sense, being that we haven't really seen too many concepts yet. I'd say the new model gets paraded on the auto show circuit next year.

Just for speculation I think the new WRX will be out as a 2014MY will make around 275hp, get around 30mpg and have things like push button start and HIDs standard.

Even if there was a significantly better model out this year, I'd want to wait and see how the FA20 performs, in the BRZ let alone turbo'ed.

To the OP if you're hoping for a carryover, why not just order a 2012?

Ahh. I didn't know that. Though I'm sure there are cars still coming in. When I got mine a couple of weeks ago the dealer was expecting a few shipments in. But then again I'm in So Cal. I don't know where the OP is?

While there may still be a few cars coming in, I believe a lot of them are spoken for. For example the WRX I ordered will probably arrive at my dealer's lot in July. One might be able to get lucky if a dealer was already set to receive a few cars before the order cut off date though.

oh my, i check the inventory for the 6 closet dealer online and there is a dealer in Pennsylvania with exactly what i wanted for me 2013 in the 2012 for 35k except it is not limited. Are the nonleather seats nice? what other things are included in the limited version?
