Lightbulb New guy from ohio 02 wrx

Hey everyone just picked up a blue 02 Wrx stage 2.
It's got an hks dowpipe and catback
    It's on bc coilovers
And comes with Rota grids 17x9.5
    All stock other than that
    It's got 146,000 miles and I paid $7500
About what power should that be at? The car feels quick.
And I got a 3 year powertrain warranty with it too ahahah.

Well technically it's my gfs but I cosigned and am helping with payment so she drives it to work and back 5 days a week 15mile trip round way and I get to drive it when ever I want.

I want to get rid of the rotas and bc coilovers and pick up a set of sti struts and lowering spring, would this be a decent set up over stock Wrx struts and springs? Coilovers not for me.

And this my baby ,a 2009 white cobalt ss sedan (1 of only 41 in summit white, only 470 sedans were made.
    Zzp dowpipe
    Zzp fmic and piping
    Hahn intake
Hptuned on e47 24lbs on the stock turbo

    welcome to the club

is the car tuned for the exhaust? although it's not required on an 02/03, it's definitely recommended so you can get the most power out of the modifications you have.

also if it hasnt already been done, get a catless uppipe as soon as possible.

getting rid of the wheels & coilovers is a good choice. try to stay around 17x8.5 at the widest. offset should be in the 40's.

It's just stage 2 17lbs sound right? it's not tuned and it's got a stage 2 exedy clutch I think, I'm buying tonight a utec with harness to have a local guy tune it. It's got an hks catless dowpipe already, full hks turbo back catles exhaust. What kinda power do you think it's pushing? How much can I get out of the bc coilovers and rota grids?

Trade? She can't drive the cobalt, 340 to 360whp and 400 to 425ftlbs of torque on 24lbs tuned on e. No def not the car for her, it's a sleeper from hell. I'll post videos later.

My guess is that it has an MBC; not the ideal solution, but it passed for bugeyes back in the day. Any reason you want the UTEC? Does this local guy only tune UTEC? The stock ECU is reflashable so most just go with a cable that plugs right into the ECU called a "Tactrix" cable. Tunes can be done using an open source software called RomRaider and ECUflash. A stage 2 Bugeye when pro tuned will put down anywhere between 215 and 240whp depending on the dyno/CF. Be sure that the car has had the up pipe replaced (pipe that connects the header to the turbo hot side). The stock pipe has a catalytic converter that has become famous for bombarding the turbo hot side.

BC coil overs are widely considered "junk" by the community. A quality combination of springs and struts will yield much more consistent and controllable handling.

Dez is correct: 9.5" wide wheels is asking a lot from the suspension configuration. I won't get into the details, but a bugeye will not maintain a constant contact patch with 9.5" wheels. This will detriment the handling and feel of the car (the leverage is incorrect on the control arms and lateral links). I would suggest 17x8 wheels with a +45 or +48 offset running 225/45/17 or 235/40/17 tires.

Well I'm new to subarus, with my ss I have hptuners. I go datalog and then email the log to my tuner and he sends revisions.
Remote tuning is just so convenient. So I have a cable for obd2. What software do I need to get? The guy selling it gave me a local guys number that would install and tune it. And boost spikes to 17 to 20 and holds 15.

    Welcome and grats!

Make sure you check on that uppipe. The stock one has a nasty habit of having the cat innards break up and go shooting into the turbo which = exploded turbo.
