Hi hello...just bought my second WRX a few weeks ago...I got the 2012 WRX CWO...I had them throw in a STI short throw shifter...I bought my first one in 2005 and put a HKS turbo back exhaust, HKS BOV, turbo timer and rims...then sold it one year later...it's been so long since I've been in the car scene and there's so many new companies that I have no idea what's quality and what's garbage! Being that I'm older and don't want to risk getting turned down on any warranty claims, I'm thinking I'm just going to stay with a cat back system till its done...

Does anyone know if this year WRX needs a turbo timer or not? And which would you recommend if any? I also want to get a BOV but don't know which to go with...same with a cat back exhaust...or any other modifications that you think are awesome...thanks for all of your suggestions and opinions! It's been so long I have no idea where to start! I know that I'm limited to what I can do by not voiding the warranty...but I prolly won't be able to stop myself! Thanks again!

    Welcome back Sean.

any dual-cooled turbo does not need a Turbo Timer, however, it can't hurt. Also spending the extra cash for something that's not really needed is totally at owners discretion. I happened to pre-own a TT. So I will be installing it in a few weeks.

Blow off valves are not recommended. See:

With the exception of wasting fuel, money on the part, and not being able to park the car in gear.

Why waste your money? It's not needed.

What is not there cannot fail. Splicing into the ignition system for no apparent reason is of course at the owner's discretion.

Alright alright...thanks for the info! Yeah I remember the headache from my last one I had it on...it's hard enough driving to conserve fuel as it is...I don't need to waste anymore! Thanks again for the info!
